Myrto Zirini x kyoord Ceramic Olive Oil Dish

Myrto Zirini x kyoord Ceramic Olive Oil Dish

Regular price $55.00 USD
Sale price $55.00 USD Regular price $55.00 USD

This handcrafted ceramic olive oil dish was designed exclusively for kyoord by Corfiot artist Myrto Zirini. Inspired by the shape of an olive and the smoothing force of the sea, each piece is slab-built from high-temperature stoneware and finished with a white glazed interior.

The exterior is textured and sculpted by hand, using natural materials like pebble stones and steel wool to burnish and refine the surface. The result is a tactile, organic dish that celebrates imperfection, craftsmanship, and quiet beauty — ideal for serving olive oil or small bites with intention.

Each dish is truly one of a kind, with slight variations in form and texture that reflect its handmade origin.

About the Artist

Myrto Zirini is a ceramicist based in Corfu, Greece. With a background in architecture and design, she turned to clay as a way to reconnect with creativity and balance. Her work is defined by organic, asymmetrical forms and tactile surfaces, which she describes as “cultural fossils” — objects shaped by time, nature, and human touch.

Influenced by the coastal landscape of Corfu, Myrto’s pieces often echo the transformation of stone into pebble through the persistent rhythm of the sea. Each vessel is both functional and poetic, grounded in tradition yet deeply personal.

Care Instructions

This piece is food-safe and dishwasher-safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its surface and prolong its life.

Unglazed areas may absorb some moisture and darken when wet — this is a natural characteristic of stoneware clay and will fade as the piece dries. Small pinholes in the glaze are common and do not affect performance.

Avoid exposing the dish to high or direct heat (e.g., ovens or stovetops). Although the base has been smoothed, the rough exterior may scratch delicate surfaces — consider using a placemat or protective layer underneath.

In case of chipping, sharp edges can be gently sanded smooth. Glaze imperfections are part of the handmade process and add to the uniqueness of each piece.
