Breakfast is often referred to as “the most important meal of the day”, and for good reason too! As the name suggests, breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period. It also replenishes your supply of glucose - which increases your energy levels. Breakfast also helps to kick start your metabolism, and it provides you with other essential nutrients required for good health, and a balanced day.
Today we are sharing one of our favorite (and simple) breakfast recipes, that will provide you with a mix of fibre, protein and good fats. We have tried and tested this granola recipe over time, so it is fine tuned and the best version possible.
Once you have tried this homemade granola recipe, you won’t ever go back to the store-bought version, as it is just so delicious! Our recipe is also a healthier alternative to supermarket bought granolas, which can often be filled with added flavors and sweeteners. All you need to make a delicious batch of granola is one bowl and some basic "good-for-you" household ingredients.
One of the best things about this granola recipe, is that you can make a big batch of it, and store it for later! Just make sure your ingredients have all cooled down (to avoid any condensation making the oats go soggy), and then place the mixture into an airtight container at room temperature. If stored correctly (away from any heat exposure), your granola will stay fresh for up to a month. To re-crisp the granola after storing, bake the mixture at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
